I realized you shouldn’t really tell the mastering guy anything while he’s mastering. Let him do it, then listen to it, and if you don’t like it, then say something, but not while he’s actually mastering because the mastering guy is the mastering guy for a reason. I’m always more of one who would keep turning everything up. I always hated when the engineer at one point would be like “It’s too loud, dude,” and turn all the faders down. If you bother him while he’s doing it, it can end up ruining the whole thing. I like to sit in, I’ve just learned over the years not to say anything, because it’s ruined stuff before.
